Waldemar, this lesson is of significance for me because I tend to “jump to conclusions” without looking over the whole board. This is a bad habit that I somehow acquired and need to remove. By having the repetition of looking ONLY for the tactical motifs, I was able to better identify some of the superficiality in my consideration of positions and to make sure that I resist the temptation to look for candidate moves before fully understanding all of the position’s possibilities.
hi you hit upon some of my bad habits that is forming conclusions with out seeing the whole picture i really need to break down the chess positions because i get to a point where i don’t know how to proceed. with you showing me how to break it down it gives me a lot of options please keep up the good work thank you
Waldemar, I agree very much with you. The great thing about this lesson is the idea of just thinking or philosophizing the position before “jumping”. Very, very instructive!.
