This is a vital lesson for me! To grasp the idea that when considering my candidates I also need to calculate my opponent’s next move candidates is a step towards reducing the number of blunders I make. With unfortunate regularity I play a move and am surprised/shocked by my opponent’s reply. “I didn’t see it,” I say to myself. Of course I didn’t, because I never looked for it.
