I have the pleasure to announce you Drills! The reason for drills is at least fourfold:
- you can exercise the chess thinking skills that you learn here at Better Your Chess
- you can compare your own thinking and solution to a “correct” sample way of thinking
- you develop decent chess thinking as a part of your chess toolbox. This is also where the consistent and coherent nature of Better Your Chess plays an important role.
- Drills come with useful tips
Get to work!
I like these! To see how thoroughly one needs to consider not only one’s own moves but also those of the opponent is very helpful. As I have mentioned before, intuition can only take a player so far.
Very useful. Concentrating in only one deeply position helps to build concentration skills.
By the way, I managed to find 1. Bxe6 but after 1…,cxd6; 2. Nxe6, Rxe6 I went on for pinning with 3. Qxf5 (with the idea to pile on the e6 Rook with the doubling of Rooks on the e-file), but of course did not correctly asses the defence 3…,Qg8.
